Harvest Home Day

Harvest Home Day is a church-wide community missions project sponsored by Nashville Baptist Church & held each year on the Saturday morning before Thanksgiving in the church parking lot.  The idea for the project originated in part as a result of a member's response to the reading of  David Platt's "Radical".  Shortly after the endeavor was begun, Nashville Baptist Church invited Union Hill Baptist Church to partner with us, and they have continued to work this project with us.  Each member of the congregations is asked to provide a bag filled with the necessary food items to prepare a complete Thanksgiving meal.  Farm Pak provides each of the families with a bag of sweet potatoes free of charge.  Food Lion & Walmart Grants have enabled us to serve even more needy families with food supplies.  Another local church used this idea to begin implementing food give aways.  During the time that the families are driving through, members of our congregation share the gospel, give out tracts, and pray over the families.  The families are invited to come to worship with us.  Please have a look at the photos for Harvest Home Day under the "Photos" tab on this website.
