Harvest Home Day

Harvest Home Day is a church-wide community missions project sponsored by Nashville Baptist Church & held each year on the Saturday morning before Thanksgiving in the church parking lot.  The idea for the project originated in part as a result of a member's response to the reading of  David Platt's "Radical".  Each member of the congregation is asked to provide a bag filled with the necessary food items to prepare a complete Thanksgiving meal.  Farm Pak provides each of the families with a bag of sweet potatoes free of charge.  Food Lion & Walmart Grants have enabled us to serve even more needy families with food supplies.  Another local church used this idea to begin implementing food give aways.  During the time that the families are driving through, members of our congregation share the gospel, give out tracts, and pray over the families.  The families are invited to come to worship with us.
